To Avoid The Need For Auto Body Repairs Advantage Collision Recommends Winter Tires!

Red SUV with repaired driver's side collision damage

At this time of year it’s important to start thinking about replacing your all-season tires to winter tires. You’re probably thinking “didn’t he just say all-season tires?” Yes I did. The thing is all-season tires are built to handle a variety of road conditions – dry roads, wet roads, and in many cases, light snow. Winter tires are built specifically to perform in winter conditions like low temperatures, ice, slush, and snow. The tread compound of all-season tires can harden in low temperatures, so there’s less traction between the road and your tires. But winter tires use special rubber compounds that stay pliable in the cold, giving them better grip and improved braking, even in extreme conditions. The reason we recommend winter tires is because they are better suited to Saskatchewan winters.

You’re also probably thinking “why does an auto body shop care about my tires?” well to be honest with you we don’t! We care about you and your safety. Our goal is to help you avoid being at fault in a collision and to try to help you lessen the severity of an accident.

Accidents will happen even with winter tires. When they do happen we hope you consider Advantage Collision for all your auto body repair, glass replacement and paintless dent repair needs in Saskatoon and area.

If you’re changing your own tires here’s a short video on how to safely jack your car.
